Who we are
Researcher Finder (“we”, “us”). For anything about your information, write to researcherfinder@gmail.com.
Visitors to this website
- We use no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. The public pages set no cookies.
- For security, our server records technical details of visits, such as the IP address, time and page. These are kept for a limited time and used only to keep the site safe.
People who send a project request
- We keep what you type in the form: your name, email, organisation, role, country, website and the details of your project.
- We use it only to reply to you, prepare a quote and carry out the work you ask for.
- It is stored on our server and sent to our email account, which is provided by Google (Gmail).
- We do not sell it or share it with anyone else. We keep it while we are in contact and for our records afterwards, and delete it when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Researchers in our lists
- What: professional details only — name, institution, country, email address as published, publication record, research topics, public career information, and our assessment of career level and suitable roles.
- Where it comes from: publicly available scholarly publications and public research profiles. We do not collect private or sensitive information.
- Why: to help journals, conferences, research organisations and similar groups find suitable experts to invite to professional roles relevant to their work.
- Legal basis: where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies, our legitimate interest in connecting published researchers with relevant professional opportunities, using details they made public for professional contact.
- Who receives it: the organisations we prepare lists for, who agree to our Terms, including respectful, lawful contact, honouring opt-outs and not passing lists on.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and not include you in future. Write to researcherfinder@gmail.com from the address you published, or tell us your name and ORCID iD. We remove you from our records, keep only your email or ORCID iD on a “do not include” list so that you are never added again, and ask the organisations we delivered lists to to remove you as well. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection. The private area is open to one account only, protected by a strong password and two-step sign-in.
Where information is kept
Our server and our email provider may be in a country other than yours. We protect information the same way wherever it is kept.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
