1. These terms
These terms apply to this website and to the researcher lists and related work we prepare for you (“the service”). “We” and “us” mean Researcher Finder; “you” means the person or organisation asking for the service. By sending a request, accepting a quote or paying, you accept these terms.
2. What we provide
- Lists of researchers built from publicly available scholarly publication records and public research profiles.
- Seniority levels, suggested roles and similar labels are our professional assessment. They are not official titles and can be wrong for some people.
- Email addresses and affiliations are as the researchers published them. People change jobs and addresses, so some details may be out of date.
- We do not promise any reply, acceptance or outcome from the people you contact.
3. Requests and quotes
Every project is quoted individually by email. The subject, career levels, regions and number of researchers are agreed by email before work begins; that email is the order. We may decline any request, for example bulk unsolicited marketing, or any purpose we consider unlawful or unethical.
4. Payment
Unless we agree otherwise by email, payment is made in full before work begins, and work starts once the payment has arrived. Any bank or transfer charges are paid by you.
5. Cancellations and refunds
- Before work starts you may cancel by email, and any payment is returned less transfer charges.
- Once work has started, payments are non-refundable. The work and the information delivered cannot be returned.
- If we deliver fewer researchers than agreed in the order, we will add researchers until the agreed number is reached, or, if that is not possible, give you a credit for the difference towards a future order.
- Delivery dates are estimates. A delay is not a reason for a refund, but we will keep you informed by email.
6. No samples
We do not provide sample records before an order. Free of charge, we can tell you roughly how many researchers match your request before you decide.
7. Delivery
Lists are delivered as spreadsheet files by email or by a download link. Please check the file when it arrives and tell us within 7 days if something is missing; after that the delivery is treated as accepted.
8. How you may use the lists
- The list is for your own organisation and the purpose stated in the order. You may not sell, share, publish or pass it on, or add it to any database offered to others.
- Contact researchers individually and respectfully, about something relevant to their work.
- You are responsible for following the data-protection and anti-spam laws that apply to you and to the people you contact — for example the EU and UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the US CAN-SPAM Act.
- Give every person a simple way to say no, honour it at once, and delete a person’s details if they ask.
- Lists are not exclusive: the same researchers may appear in lists we prepare for others.
9. Requests from researchers
If a researcher asks us not to include them, we remove them from our records and future lists. We may ask you to remove that person from a list we delivered to you, and you agree to do so.
10. Responsibility and liability
- The service is provided with care but “as is”. We do not guarantee that every detail is complete, current or correct.
- Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost opportunities, lost income or damage to reputation.
- You are responsible for how you use the lists and for your messages to researchers, and you will cover any claim made against us because of a use that breaks these terms.
11. Confidentiality
We keep the details of your request and project private and use them only to prepare your quote and your work.
12. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version on this page applies to new requests and orders. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
